The Dental Implant Procedure at Rose Rock Dental

The Consultation: Determining the Ideal Implant Option for You

At Rose Rock Dental, we know that receiving dental implants is a major step for some Norman, OK, patients. But our caring, friendly team is here to ensure a positive, comfortable dental implant experience at every phase of the procedure! Receiving dental implants from our practice begins by scheduling a private consultation with our experienced doctors. During this visit, we review your medical and dental histories, take low-radiation digital images, perform a thorough clinical evaluation, and discuss your personal tooth replacement needs and goals for your smile. We plan for any necessary tooth extractions or bone grafting procedures, and present the best dental implants option for your tooth replacement.

Full arch dental implants are a fixed alternative to conventional dentures

The Single Dental Implant Process

Single dental implants replace individually missing teeth. If you are replacing a failing or hopeless tooth with an implant, we often can extract the tooth and surgically place the implant within the same visit. We use guided implant surgery to position your implant precisely within the jawbone. In some cases, we can temporize your implant at this visit with a temporary crown. The implant is given about two months to heal and integrate with surrounding bone. Once this occurs, you return to our office where we use our CEREC® milling machine to fabricate your new dental implant crown on-site! Our doctors secure your crown in place, completing your single dental implant process.

Implant Supported Dentures and Full Arch Dental Implants Cases

For implant supported dentures and full arch dental implants cases, we take impressions of your upper and lower arch during your consultation. This information is used to create temporary replacement teeth for you to wear while your dental implants integrate with your jaw. On the day of your procedure, we perform any necessary extractions and strategically position the necessary number of dental implants (two or more for implant supported dentures and four to six for full arch dental implants). Our team also attaches your temporary prosthetic, which will serve your oral function and appearance needs until your implant sites heal. Over the next four to six months, your dental implants will fuse firmly with your jaw. We then take new impressions for your final implant restoration. Once created, we affix your permanent replacement teeth to your dental implants, and send you on your way to enjoy your new smile!
